    Winners and Heroes

    Blog 22nd August 2022

Hip hip hooray! It’s always good to give a cheer and, whilst we are jolly proud of our recent awards, we’ve also been delighted to welcome a team of heroes for the day, supporting Help for Heroes with a bee keeping experience for a group of wounded injured and sick veterans.

    Phew – It’s hot!

    Blog 19th July 2022

Phew it’s hot, but you won’t catch me complaining…
We’ve just come back from a fabulous holiday in France to discover that the figs are ripe and fit to burst, the bees are busy scooting around for the final forage of the season and our sweetcorn plants are reaching for the sky.

  • There’s only one this on my mind this time of year and that’s strawberries!

    Promises of Spring!
As the days get longer, nature seems to respond with an unfurling to feel the warmth of the sun and hope is inhaled by all that breathe.

  • When our friends at Omlet got in touch to say that they were writing a new book about chickens and could I contribute, of course I said yes! The Omlet team have been coming to Hen Corner for staff training over many years and so it was no surprise when it was my quiche recipe that they asked for, as they’d each enjoyed it for lunch on our courses.
