Be Prepared – Part Five

| 15th December 2015

Christmas is coming, it’s practically here…

This is our last post in the series ‘Be Prepared’ and we hope that it’s been helpful and that you are nearly ready for Christmas. Our pattern continues with ‘Something for You’ – an inspiring seasonal event and ‘Something for Them’ – great gift ideas. You can find our full series of Festive Top Tip Films on our Christmas Page along with full details of all our Christmas courses and events.

The Weir New YearSomething for You

If you are anything like me, I don’t like to start thinking about New Year until we’ve finished the turkey leftovers, however, since a recent visit to The Weir in Brentford, I would definitely love to party with them on 31st December. We’ve known the owner, Joanne Scully, for several years now and have enjoyed many visits to The Weir, sometimes drinks, sometimes meals, throughout the year. They have recently launched a great new website and have re-fitted the interior to include a cocktail bar along with areas for formal and informal dining and, of course, space both inside and outside on the waterside terrace to simply enjoy a drink. We are especially delighted to be supplying some of our local Hen Corner produce for their restaurant menu and wish them every success for this holiday season and new plans for 2016.

Something for Them

The gift of a new skill makes a wonderful Christmas present – one that you can enjoy for many years to come, it needs no storage space or even dusting!

Regular readers will know that we run courses throughout the year helping others grow in both food production and country craft skills and, after their first session, we are delighted that many of our course guests come back to Hen Corner to try their hand to something new.

Reviews can be found here and also on Tripadvisor.

To make things as easy as possible this Christmas, we are now selling Gift Vouchers for our most popular courses via our Micro Bakery Online Store, after purchase, we can post you a gift card which you can give as a present. If you leave it really late, you can simply pass on the email receipt!

TM ToastComing up at the Corner…

Thanks Pat, the Christmas Fair went well on Sunday – almost sold out!
The bees are generally snuggling down for winter, but I did see some bringing in pollen yesterday so, as you say, the flowers must be confused!
